Thank You!

Thank You!

Our three churches would not be able to operate without a lot of people who, together, make up a huge army of volunteers, carrying out an equally huge range of tasks and ministries. We really wouldn’t be what we are without you all. On Sunday 15th July at St Mildred’s we will acknowledge your contribution to the life of our churches, and say ‘thank you’!

The afternoon will begin at 2.30pm with a talk about The ‘Urgent’ Miss Babington by Eleanor Bliss. Miss Babington was only the vicar’s daughter, but what an incredible life she led. This will be followed by a short act of worship, and a word or two by Archdeacon Darren. We will then enjoy tea together.

So, good people of St Mildred’s, St Michael’s and St John’s, please come if you can!

Ringing Remembers
May

10:00 AM10:00

Ringing Remembers

On Monday 28th May, and in this centenary commemoration of the First World War, our bellringers will attempt a quarter peal in honour of two former members of the St Mildred’s band, who died in that great conflict. The chosen date is exactly one hundred years since Charles Cecil Tribe of the Royal Naval Division was killed in France. A year earlier, Frederick Gilbert of the Royal Irish Rifles died of wounds (on the 7th June 1917). So when you hear the bells ringing between 10am and 11am on the 28th May, you will know why they are being rung. The hope is that 1,400 bell ringers are to be recruited nationally to mark 100 years since World War One ended, and the 1,400 bell ringers who died in the conflict. If you would like to become a bellringer, or to find out more about it before deciding, contact Richard Edwards (07889 400719).

Stewardship Renewal at St Mildred's

Stewardship Renewal at St Mildred's

We have each been created by God, and equipped with talents, aptitudes, gifts and skills. These talents and gifts, like our possessions and wealth, are generous gifts from a generous God.

St Mildred’s thrives because, in response to God’s generosity, people get involved, and support the life and worship of the church. People make a huge contribution by giving time, practical ability, creativity and money.

On Sunday 20th May – the Feast of Pentecost - we are holding special services to encourage us to think about our membership of the community of St Mildred’s and how we can best play our part in the life of our church. Would you like to become involved – or change how you are presently involved? Come along to St Mildred’s on Sunday 20th May and find out more!
